Korea’s leading crime action series ‘Crime City 4’ has surpassed 8 million viewers on its 13th day of release.
‘Crime City 4’, which has been dominating the box office for two consecutive weeks, has surpassed 8 million viewers on the 13th day of its release, as of 8 a.m. on May 6, according to the Integrated Movie Ticketing System.
The speed at which ‘Crime City 4’ surpassed the 8 million box office mark is a whopping 5 days faster than the 8 million mark reached by ‘Famous’ (2024) and the 8 million mark reached by ‘Crime City 2’ (2022), the highest-grossing film in the series, on the 18th day of its release.
It also set a new box office record for the shortest period of time in the series, surpassing the 8 million mark of ‘Crime City 3’ (2023), which was the shortest period of time in the history of the ‘Crime City’ series. As a result, ‘Crime City 4’ has set new records for the shortest period of time in 2024 and the shortest period of time in a series, and is expected to continue its steady rise in the third week of its release.
With this incredible box office pace, ‘Crime City 4’ has surpassed 7,963,149 cumulative attendance in its second week, surpassing the cumulative attendance of 6,546,674 for ‘Crime City 2’ (2022) and 7,782,660 for ‘Crime City 3’ (2023), making it the highest-ever attendance of the series. Parodying a scene from the film in which a delivery app notification leads to a clue and a full-scale investigation, the team said, ‘Thank you to the 8 million viewers,’ and thanked the audience directly for the film’s success.
